Heidi Spång, scientist in SpermVital has defended her PhD in immunology


The main thesis of the PhD was to show that vaccines can be made more effective if antigens from infectious agents are connected to targeting units that bind specialized immune cells in our body. Heidi Spång and co-workers have developed a new heterodimeric platform for targeted DNA vaccines that can have two different targeting units and two different antigens. This new vaccine platform provides more flexibility for developing new DNA vaccines against infectious diseases and cancer.
