EXCELLENT RESULTS WITH SPERMVITAL ON NORWEGIAN RED (NRF) IN HOLLAND

NRF semen distributor Xsires and CAH University students Freek Beernink and Walter Kock conducted a 3 month trial in Holland during the summer of 2010. Several hundred Holstein cows from 30 herds were randomly inseminated with either conventional Holstein semen or SpermVital NRF semen. Only "problem" Holstein cows served from 2nd and more inseminations were randomly offered the regular Holstein semen or the SpermVital semen.

The trial resulted in 231 SpermVital inseminations and 204 Holstein inseminations.

High pregnancy rates with SpermVital

NRF SpermVital had as expected significantly better pregnancy rate than conventional Holstein semen. The average pregnancy rate of problem cows inseminated with the SpermVital semen was 49 percent compared to 25 percent with Holstein semen. This is a significant difference!

The difference increases even further for the cows that return to heat more than 3 times. For the 4th insemination SpermVital showed a pregnancy rate of 59 percent compared to just 21 percent with regular Holstein semen. For the Dutch dairy farmers, this translates to reduced semen costs, improved herd fertility and less need for replacement heifers just by using NRF SpermVital!
